Consultation – Beulah Junior School reduction of Published Admission Number (PAN)

The Published Admission Number (PAN) at Beulah Junior School is currently 360. This means that the number of pupils admitted to our school in year 3 each year is a maximum of 90. The Governors and Senior Leadership Team at Beulah Junior School wish to reduce this by 30 places which will result in an annual pupil intake of 60 effective September 2026 onward.

Reducing the PAN will assist the school to provide stability in its long-term planning and allow the school to secure high-quality educational outcomes for the pupils currently on our roll, while continuing to provide an appropriate number of places for future pupil numbers in line with demand in the Croydon areas, in and around Thornton Heath.

We have been working closely with Croydon Council and have been temporarily running the school with available spaces for 60 pupils per year group (in years 3, 4, 5 and 6) since September 2022. This also falls inline with our main feeder school Beulah Infant School, who also have spaces for 60 pupils per year group (in Reception, Year 1 and 2). It is important to our Governing Board and our staff here at Beulah Junior School, to consider the views of our parents and the wider community.
